I finished the review of the proof copy of my books, and the flags represent the errors I found. My sister also finished her review of a digital copy, and has given me her feedback.
I was worried when I started reviewing, because I didn't find any errors in the first two chapters. But that worry was short lived as I started finding things. Mostly really minor. Spacing, quotation marks, wording that is clunky.
I have probably read this book fifty to one hundred times as I have been writing it, editing and correcting as I go. I don't know if other writers do that, but it is a process that works for me.
Today I will go into the document and correct the errors that my sister and I found.
Then I will wait. I always wait for my copyright paperwork to arrive before I publish. I know I don't have to, but I like to have that paperwork in my hands before I go live with a book.
There is an extra reason to wait this time. I had new professional headshots done, so I want that new look to appear on the back of this book.
As I said in my last post, I am growing anxious to start writing again. Maybe today will be that day. Once again, I have a book to finish so that the planned 2023 Christmas book can become the 2024 Christmas book. Maybe that book will end up being book 12, and a new Christmas book will present itself to me.
My creative brain is waking up. Story ideas are popping up everywhere. Hopefully, some of those ideas will grow and bear fruit. But first, the corrections...
