At this time last year, I had just started cleaning out the room in the garage that had been Cecil's shop, with my intent to turn it into a guest room. Today, it is complete. I shared a picture of the room when the loveseat arrived, and I have been working on really finishing it since then. Today the last piece was put in place.
The room now has a refrigerator (with a small freezer inside), microwave, and a Keurig coffee maker.
I had initially put two coffee mugs by the Keurig, but have almost knocked them down several times, so I put them and an assortment of artificial sweeteners in the drawer below the shelf.
In the new little stand next to the microwave are disposable bowls and plates, and napkins and cutlery. If anyone ever comes to stay, I will put cream and sugar in the refrigerator.
The room has a two piece bath, so the only reason visitors will have to come into the house is to bathe.
It is still a pool cabana room, so pool supplies and towels share the space, but altogether, I think it is a great little room.
I'm not sure if I ever shared a picture of the bean bag chair in the room, so here is that too.
There is a full size mattress in the bean bag chair, which can be used as a mattress topper on the loveseat, or as secondary sleeping if there are kids and parents involved.
That was the view from the loveseat before the addition of the microwave and little chest.
I am very proud of my happy little guest room. Now all it needs is a guest.
And it represents something big for me. I can make a plan and execute a vision all by myself. There is still a lot of work to be done to clean out the garages and the main house, and the Katrina cottage is my reminder that I can do it.
