The dedication page from "Blessed By Discovery". I had to dedicate this book to Cecil, but I didn't know what to say. I could have written a whole book about how much I miss him, and what he means to me, and how I can't imagine what my life would have looked like if I hadn't met and fell in love with him.
But I went with something a little lighthearted, because we spent so much of our time laughing together. Our first date was to a comedy club. Our senses of humor had so much overlap, it was rare that I found something funny that Cecil didn't and vice-versa.
When I remember and talk about Cecil, there are so many times I end up laughing, because he was an incredibly witty and funny person, who had the ability to see the humor in so many everyday situations. I miss that so very much. But I am very grateful for all of the memories.
For those of you reading this post who will read this book, there is a lot of grieving and grief in this story. As with all of my stories, faith in God and the support of community carry the characters forward through their struggles.
Waiting for my tenth book to go live, knowing that without my faith and the support of my community (that means you), I could never have made it here.
With much thanks and love...
I love the dedication -- it's perfect! 😍
