I corrected all the errors I found, and changed the page dimension to 6x9, which is the standard in Kindle Direct Publishing. I didn't realize when I did that the font default would change. There is nothing wrong with this font, but it doesn't match the font I have used in my other books, and I just want that consistent look for my readers.
I changed the font and ordered another proof copy. This book will eventually be live and available for purchase, honest it will.
I read something the other day about the team of people involved in getting a book published in traditional publishing. I am all of those people in my self-publishing business. So the multiple iterations is not a bad thing. I can choose to look at the multiple iterations as going through separate departments for quality control.
I keep reminding myself to be proud of the books I have written. To be proud of learning the ropes of self-publishing. To be proud of creating my own covers. As I try to figure out how to grow my audience, I am just proud that I am trying.
Life is in the doing. Success is kind of random. Trying, and testing yourself, and putting yourself out there is the life win. Not going to lie, critical and/or financial success with my books would be great. But I will not diminish my accomplishment by using only sales numbers and income to measure my success.
The fact that I write these books and format and build covers and publish said books is amazing. And I will keep reminding myself of that.
